Labrador Retriever

Description: Labrador is also known as Labrador Retriever or in short as “Lab” is very popular for games of catch and retrieve. These dogs are usually of yellow or chocolate colored and well built for athletic games and are very intelligent. They like to be lead by humans and form part as a member of the family giving protection very easily. They are also easily trainable and are also suited for search and rescue purposes.

Size: Dogs 22.5 inches to 24.5 inches and Bitches 21.5 inches to 23.5 inches according to AKC. Weight of males from 29.5 kgs to 36 kgs and females is 25 kgs to 32 kgs.

Appearance: Well built, athletic and very good retriever.

Health Issues: A healthy dog. Though might get elbow dysplasia and knee problems and obesity (but can be reduced by proper exercises).
